Church is more than a Sunday morning gathering.

It's about joining God's unfolding story, and discovering the ways God invites all of us to participate in His creative, redemptive work in the world.

You may wish to explore what it means to follow Christ for the first time. Or, perhaps you require a place for rest and healing. Maybe you’re searching for practical ways to express your love for Christ.

Whatever your reason, we’re glad you’re here. Everyone who calls UCC home brings purpose, gifts, and passions that enrich the perspective of the whole body, and help grow our fruitfulness in sharing Christ’s transforming love across the city. 

At UCC there are several ways to engage:

Campus ministry. 

From the very beginning, UCC’s mission has been centered on reaching the campus with the good news of Jesus and forming lifelong disciples.

Each semester we come together to shape several church-wide campus ministry efforts that unfold alongside regular discipleship rhythms and campus ministry partnerships. Campus prayer walks, bible discussion groups, sidewalk pancakes, 1-on-1 mentorship, sabbath retreats—these are just a few of the many ways we’re seeking to share the love of Christ on campus, and embolden students to share Jesus’ love right here in our neighborhood.

We deeply value the campus ministry partners we regularly have a chance to minister alongside, both locally in Cincinnati and nationally. Our partners for the 2026-27 academic year include: The 86 Ministries, Impact Campus Ministries, International Friendships Inc. (IFI), Fusion USA, Bearcat Pantry, and Pop-UP Praise.

Children’s Faith Formation. 

We hope each child here encounters their Good Shepherd, embraces His unbounded joy for them, and grows into a lifelong relationship with Jesus.

The UCC Atrium is our spiritual formation environment for children ages 3-12. Whether you’re a parent curious about our faith formation methodology (called, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd), a college-student seeking volunteer service hours, or a faithful adult in the community who desires to come alongside our littlest community members as a co-listener and companion, we encourage you to explore all that our Atrium has to offer.

Discipleship for Teens. 

Being a teenager is hard. Period. Being a teen who desires to maintain and grow in their relationship with Jesus is no easy task.

City Gospel Mission. 

The Bible is clear: Jesus calls us to care for the foreigner, the orphaned, the widowed—the ones who society deems “unclean” and “unworthy” of love. One of the ways we respond to this call is through our partnership with City Gospel Mission. On the fourth Wednesday of the month, we prepare and serve a meal together at the men’s shelter—a simple, practical, tangible way to extend Christ's love to our neighbors.

Transforming Jail Ministries. 

In 2026, we began a new partnership with Transforming Jail Ministries, a Cincinnati-based organization dedicated to sharing God’s hope with those in jail. At Christmastime, we participate in Cookies at Christmas, TJM’s regional effort to bring a bit of joy into the Hamilton County jail facilities, reminding those incarcerated that there are people thinking of and praying for them. Some within our community serve as chaplains, while others help with design and communications work.

Loaves & Dishes. 

Births. Deaths. Hospital stays. Other unforeseen events.

There are plenty of times when folks from within the church (and those adjacent) could use a little extra support. Our “Loaves & Dishes” ministry team provides meals (or giftcards) for individuals/families when needs arise.

Prayer ministry. 

It’s been suggested that the hidden atheism of the church is that “we believe in productivity more than prayer.”

Yes, what we do matters. But what matters more is how we do it: with our hearts turned to God. Regularly. Consistently. Day after day after day. At UCC, we wholeheartedly believe in the work, disciple, and power of prayer. Listening prayer. Intercessory prayer. Waiting prayer. Healing prayer. Communal prayer. Liturgical prayer. Off-the-cuff prayer. Breath prayer. Even “wordless sighs and aching groans.” UCC’s Prayer Commission takes up the worthy task of helping deepen our culture of prayer, by planning one-off prayer-related trainings along with shepherding our regular prayer rhythms on Sunday mornings and beyond.
